Prospective gospel artist, Scott Evans has said he will allow a secular artiste to compose songs for him.
He rallied his reason to the fact that some secular artists are also Christians.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Wednesday, he lamented that most people focus on the outward appearance of secular artists and underestimate the fact that most of them are born again.
"Honestly, I think people get their sentiment when it comes to secular and gospel artists. Meanwhile, the only difference between these artists is the content they put out there. Mind you, most of these secular artists are Christians and born again".
Following the backlash on social media on a song highlife singer and songwriter Kwame Eugene composed for gospel artiste Joyce Blessing, he finds no problem with the issue because he believes everyone has his or her personality.
He added that some artistes' lyrics used in music are beyond mere words.
"The words they write are not mere words. They express their faith in God. Hence, the focus in music goes beyond the instrumentations.”
Scott explained that some of these secular artists' purposes of music are intended to inspire love.
“Some of these artists' music is for love. If I want to make love to my wife, I cannot play my gospel songs to make love to her,” he said.
When questioned about accepting a song from a secular musician who promotes sexual content in songs, he replied: "I will accept songs from a secular artist if it's not vulgar. You cannot judge anybody for their actions because we all do things in secrets".
Referencing a quote in the bible, he said "For the spiritual man judges all things but for he is not judged.”
