The flag-bearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr Abu Sakara says he will focus on issues and offer solutions to the pressing issues confronting Ghanaians in his campaign ahead of the December elections.
According to him, the CPP will emancipate Ghanaians from economic distress and ensure that Ghana becomes the beckon of hope of Africa when voted into power in December.
Dr. Sakara was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.
He stressed that he is above the politics of propaganda and lies, hence would focus on the bread and butter issues confronting Ghanaians.
Dr. Sakara added that given the hardships Ghanaians have been plunged into by both the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the years, there is no need for the CPP to use propaganda to convince Ghanaians to vote for them.
The CPP flag-bearer stated that a CPP government will find a lasting solution to the problems in the country rather than the cosmetic approach adopted by the NDC and NPP.
The agronomist was worried at the poor performance of the agricultural sector of the economy and promised his government will resuscitate the sector when voted into power.
Dr. Sakara advised that issues of national importance must be addressed from a non-partisan point of view for accelerated development of Ghana.
Commenting on the dwindling electoral fortunes of the CPP, he said the party is going into the December polls with a potent campaign message which he believes will improve the performance of the party.
The 2008 Vice-Presidential candidate of the CPP admitted that a change in the electoral fortunes of the party will be a difficult task but was optimistic the party, with a can-do spirit, will win the election.
He urged all ‘prodigal’ CPP members to come home and help the party to re-structure to regain its popularity and pride in the country’s political landscape.
