The Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG) will on Wednesday convene a round table.
The discussion is on the theme: “Of Technical Advisors, Special Advisors and Personal Assistants: How complementary and effective is their role to public service delivery in Ghana?”.
It comes off at 10:00 am at the IDEG Auditorium, East Legon. The aim of the roundtable is to examine the appointments of non-career officials in the public sector and their implications for productivity and effectiveness of the sector.
Speakers of the roundtable include Janet Fofie, Chairman, Public Services Commission; Dr. Yaw Baah, Secretary General, Trades Union Congress (TUC); Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Adarkwa, Retired Chief Director, Communication Ministry and Godfrey Ewool, Former Technical Assistance Adviser, Local Government Ministry.
This roundtable is part of a series of activities being organized by IDEG under the “Seminar on Local Governance Reforms and Public Service Institutions”.
It seeks to contribute to the debate on and advocacy for transformational local governance reforms and effective public service institutions to deepen Ghana’s democratic governance and socio-economic development.
Participants for the roundtable will be drawn from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, civil society organizations, religious organisations, academia, labour unions and media.
