Living with albinism is a condition most people don't pray for, but when it happens, one has to embrace it, as they are a gift from God, just like every other child.
In our part of the world, people with albinism have not always been treated well, which often makes them feel as though they don’t belong in the societies they find themselves in.
Amofah Akwasi was born with albinism. He shared that the experience has been horrifying, as he is the fourth child of his parents and the only one born with the condition.
“I come from a very teasing and bullying house. I see everything at home before I go out. So I don’t really feel bothered when I go out. So, the teasing and bullying started from home,” he told Roselyn Felli on Changes

Facing these terrible experiences, Akwasi wishes to have a child with albinism so he can provide the child with the treatment he never received.
“One thing that will hurt me is my child not being an albino. It will really hurt me. I want to give the child a life that I didn’t get. I want him or her to be treated like how I wanted to be when I was young. So it will really hurt if I don’t get a child with my colour,” he said.
