The NPP headquarters, one of two voting centres in Accra for Sunday’s Super Delegates Congress of the party was a sharp contrast to the violence that characterised the place last week.

From around 8:30am when voting started to reduce by two the seven NPP flagbearship hopefuls, the party headquarters was calm.

There were no angry machete-wielding supporters of the party registering their discontent with the leadership style of Party Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong.

One thing was however prominent at the headquarters on Sunday: a strong support for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo among both grassroots supporters and top guns who thronged the place either to vote or observe goings on.

Eventually the two-time presidential candidate of the largest opposition party in Ghana won more than 80% of all 781 votes cast across all ten regions of the country.

The results as declared at the headquarters are as follows:

 Nana Akufo-Addo – 65

Alan Kyerematen – 7

Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku – 2

 Stephen Asamoah Boateng, 1

 Kofi Osei Ameyaw 2

Joe Ghartey 0

Francis Addai Nimoh. 0

The results from all 11 polling centres put Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the lead with 80.81%.

Alan Kyerematen obtained 7.97%, Joe Ghartey -- 2.97%, Addai Nimoh -- 2.97%, Asamoah Boateng -- 1.75%, Konadu Apraku -- 1.35% while Osei Ameyaw -- 2.18% of total votes cast.

This means Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku and Stephen Asamoah Boateng will not take part in October 18's National Delegates Congress to select the party’s Presidential Candidate for 2016 general elections.

Myjoyonline.com’s photojournalist, David Andoh captured some poignant shots at the party’s HQ Sunday.

Old age did not bar party faithfuls from casting their ballots.

Some supporters could not stand on their feet after Akufo-Addo was declared winner in polls at the party HQ. Their elation sent them to the floor.

Dramatic jubilations characterised Akufo-Addo's victory.

Sir John rubbed it in: Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the only candidate to lead the NPP in 2016.
