Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom will play with Europe’s big boys after his Swiss side FC Basel thrashed FC Sheriff 0-3 on Tuesday night to secure qualification into the Champions League Group stage.
Inkoom played the entire duration of the match as Basel sealed a 4-0 aggregate scoreline to progress and will await Friday’s draw to know their Group mates.
Basel went into the game with a slim 1-0 advantage from the first leg but thanks to a late double strike from Alexander Frei after Marco Streller has doubled Basel’s aggregate early in the second half.
Inkoom, 20, will be one of the few Ghanaian players line-up for Uefa Champions League football this season.
