Joe Nana Adarkwa has left his role as head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies after nine years.
The gaffer leaves the club for the remainder of the 2024/25 season citing the need to take a sabbatical at post.
Since taking over the Nana Mma club, Adarkwa led them to two Women’s Premier League titles in 2022 and 2023.
He also won the Women’s FA Cup with Ampem Darkoa Ladies two seasons ago and led them to win Gold at the WAFU Women's Champions League as well a 4th placed finish in the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League Cote D'Ivoire.
“As we part ways, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to coach and mentor each of you,” he said in his farewell letter.
“Your dedication, passion, and perseverance have inspired me every step of the way.
“I'm so proud of the progress we've made together, the challenges we've overcome, and the memories we've created.
“You've not only grown as athletes, but also as individuals, and I have no doubt that you'll carry the lessons and values we've shared onto future endeavors.
“Thank you again for an unforgettable journey. I'll be cheering for each of you every step of the way.”
Adarkwa says a decision on his next chapter will be made soon but he will now focus on his national U-17 job where he recently guided the Black Maidens to WAFU B U-17 Girls’ Cup glory.
