The woes of former Black Stars Captain, John Paintsil do not appear to be showing any signs of abeyance.
He was Tuesday morning charged with a fourth count of assaulting of a public officer - one detective Sgt William Dzamesi.
The footballer had been standing trial for assaulting the East Legon District Commander, stealing and offensive conduct.
Police prosecutors say Sgt Dzamesi tried arresting John Paintsil after he assaulted DSP Emmanuel Basintale.
He reportedly shoved aside the assaulting officer and continued his assault on the police commander, injuring him in the process.
Reading the charges, police prosecutor DSP David Ghalley said John Paintsil before landing a heavy blow on the eye of the police commander, hurled insults on him and also accused him of flirting with his wife.
John Paintsil pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was admitted to a 5000 Cedis bail with one surety.
The case has been adjourned to July 15, 2016.
