Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, as part of the “Let’s make Accra work” agenda engaged government officials within the capital to conclude consultations for a bye-law to enhance compliance with the Road Traffic Regulations (2012) LI 2180.

The stakeholder consultative meeting that took place on Friday, August 6, considered banning tricycles also known as “Aboboyaa” from using the highways and principal streets in the capital.

According to Mr Henry Quartey, he remains focused on ensuring road regulations for motorbike riders are enforced while addressing the issue of abandoned vehicles on the streets.

However, the loss of jobs and income are some of the major concerns that have been raised should such a bye-law be passed and enforced.

Today, on the Super Morning Show, hosts Kojo Yankson and Wiston Amoah will delve into the matter as to whether a ban on "aboboyaa" is the right move to address the many challenges facing the capital city.
