Football champions Asante Kotoko remain undefeated in the ongoing premier league season after recording a goalless scoreline against New Edubiase at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.
The Porcupine warriors missed the chance to close in on the top of the standings as the game ended in their sixth draw of the season. Kotoko are now 6th with 15 points, 3 points behind the league-leading Aduana Stars.
SC Medeama head coach Bashir Hayford must have breathed a heavy sigh of relief after his team’s 1-0 victory over AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium.
The Medeama coach has been under pressure following after a three game winless streak. This latest win will keep his side in second place, one point behind the leaders, and will likely ease the pressure on him.
The situation in Obuasi is rather different as AshantiGold coach Yaw Acheampong comes under intense pressure from fans who had initially called for him to step aside during the next two matches.
Amidaus Professionals offered the Accra Hearts of Oak stiff competition as they tied 2-2 at the Tema stadium.
Amidaus midfielder Yahaya Mohammed continued his impressive showcase, grabbing a brace in the game. The 23-year-old midfielder, who is on loan from Kotoko, has now increased his goal tally to 8 and moved two clear of Liberty Professionals’ Kennedy Ashia.
Liberty Professionals managed a 1-0 win against Tema Youth at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman.
Ebenezer Assifouh scored in the 64th minute, leading to a Liberty victory that would lighten the sting of their derby defeat by Hearts of Oak last Sunday at the Accra stadium.
Berekum Chelsea defeated All Stars 1-0 at the Golden City Park. Dwarfs finished off RTU 2-0 at the Accra stadium while Heart of Lions tied 1-1 with Arsenal at the Kpando Park. Aduana Stars defeated King Faisal 1-0 at the Dormaa Park.
