Members of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporters Union (Circles) have expressed their deep concern about the alleged internal conflict and animosity within the ranks of the five-member management team of the club.
The Supporters have therefore appealed to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is the Chief Patron and owner of the club to call the members to order and resolve the matter once and for all.
A statement received by the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Monday jointly signed by Mr Anthony Osei Boateng and Mr Godfred K. Boateng, National Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Union said the supporters pointed out that the accusations and counter-accusations and the ‘media-war’ amongst the five-member management team, suggested that they were polarized, a development which they noted was unhealthy for the smooth running of the club.
The statement said the refusal of Mr Slyvester Asare Owusu, Chairman and his management team to meet the leadership of the Circles and discuss some pertinent issues concerning the club gave ample suggestion that all was not well in the club.
It said the behaviour of the management did not only expose them of “their immaturity to solve problems within the club but was also a disgrace to the followers of the club and the Great King Osei Tutu who appointed them”.
The statement therefore appealed to Otumfuo to organize and chair a meeting of stakeholders of Kotoko in the shortest possible time to iron out whatever differences that exist in the club and enable all to contribute their quota towards the smooth running of the club.
