The Ghana youth striker is on the radar of the defending Ghana Premier League Champions, who are on a mission to beef up their squad.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko have officially written to Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals for the services of their offensive midfielder Kennedy Ashia.
The Ghana league defending champions have been following the exploit of the goal poacher who has so far netted nine goals in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
His goals include a double against the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Stadium and coach Dramani believes he can be the missing piece in the Kotoko jigsaw.
Reports reaching Goal Ghana are that Kotoko have made their bid official by writing to the ‘Scientific Soccer Lads’ for the services of the highly-gifted Under-20 player.
The deal is likely to be cash plus a player with Seidu Bancey very much on the cards to move away from the Baba Yara Stadium for Kotoko to accommodate Ashia, who can also play as a typical number nine.
Kotoko have a long lasting relationship with Liberty which has over the years seen majority of the best players of the ‘Scientific Club’ including William Tiero, Sammy Addo, Kwame Obeng-Darko, Mark Adu Amofa, Daniel Yeboah, and more recently Issah Yakubu, and Michael Helegbe moving to the Fabulous Club.
From the look of things it is evidently clear that Kotoko will have the services of Ashia if he does not secure a move abroad after the U20 World Cup in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Liberty Professionals goalkeeper and skipper Daniel Agyei is one of the three goalkeepers on the radar of Asante Kotoko. The others are Adade Foli of Dwarfs and Black Stars number one Fatau Dauda.
