Executives of the Kwabre West NDC in the Ashanti Region are calling the bluff of supposed youth who are threatening to resign from the party.
Monday’s edition of the Chronicle Newspaper reported that the youth had given constituency executives 72 hours to resign or they will quit en bloc.
The youth also alleged all the 65 branches in the constituency have collapsed to the detriment of party organization of the entire party.
The party’s leadership in the area has held a press conference attended by District Chief Executive, Kaakyire Oppong Kyekyeku, to respond to the issue.
Constituency Secretary, Tahiru Amadu, told journalists all party branches are functioning, whilst majority of the so-called aggrieved persons have been engaged by the National Youth Employment Programme.
The District Chief Executive says he has requested for names of people to be employed under the LESDEP initiative, but no one is taking advantage of it.
He also dismissed allegations he and other party functionaries hired thugs to attack members of the youth who attempted to organize a press conference.
Mr. Oppong Kyekyeku urged the youth to exhaust all avenues prescribed by the party constitution in seeking resolution of their grievances.
