The Country Manager for West Africa for RIFE International, Kwaku Osei-Sarpong has been named among the nominees for the 2022 Forty Under 40 Awards.
The Forty under 40 Awards scheme seeks to identify, honor, and celebrate a cross-section of the nation’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of 40 who are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service and have risen through the ranks of their companies or industries at a relatively young age.
This is in belief that putting the spotlight on these young achievers will not only celebrate them but also build a strong platform for them by giving a voice and opportunities to the next generation of industry pacesetters while building a positive attitude in the youth to strive for excellence at a young age.
In his role as Country Manager – West Africa, Kwaku Osei-Sarpong is spearheading the drive for clean energy in West Africa, with a focus on climate change mitigation, climate and clean energy finance and sustainable infrastructure for governments, private-sector, non-profit organizations as well as Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs).
The award-winning clean energy business executive has led and played critical roles in the development, finance, implementation and management of several significant projects and initiatives in Ghana, Africa and the United States. This has won him awards including the West African Nobles Award for Business Excellence and Integrity, as well as Enactus Leadership award.
He has been very active in Ghana and other African countries in the renewable energy, energy efficiency, e-mobility and sustainability space, creating and leading opportunities ranging from job creation to assisting public and private sector organizations reduce energy consumption and costs. His work is also providing avenues for decarbonized electricity through solar energy and other renewable energy sources, whiles ultimately reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
He is a Board member of Enactus Ghana – a non-profit organization, where his professional and entrepreneurial development work has directly impacted over 120,000 people through community development initiatives and reached over 4 million people across various parts of the country. He will be leading student entrepreneurs from CK Tendam University of Technology and Applied Sciences to the global Enactus entrepreneurship competitions to be held in the Americas in November 2022.
This year’s Forty under 40 awards has 35 Main Categories and will be held at the Kempinksi Hotel Gold Coast City on Saturday 1st October 2022.
