Former Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah has claimed a top award in Sudan as he has been adjudged best manager in the topflight despite finishing an overall fifth position with his side Al Khartoum.
Appiah scooped the top prize for his excellent exploits at a ceremony held to award best performers in the league at the end of the season.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup Ghana coach shrugged off stiff competition from other contenders including Fawzy Al Mardy who is head coach at title winners Al Hilal Omdurman.
Appiah demonstrated top level coaching skills during the season but unfortunately failed to win the league title.
The 56-year-old has been in charge of Al Khartoum since December 2014.
