On Sunday, November 7, 2021, over 4000 residents in the Ketu Municipality were displaced and several others were left in despair when they woke up to their homes and properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis being washed away by tidal waves.
Communities such as Abutiakope, Kedzikope, and Keta Central were largely affected to the extent that residents had nothing to salvage.
In Anloga, residents of Dzita, Agbledomi, Atiteti, Agokedzi, and Fuveme were also displaced by the fierce tidal waves that swept through the communities during the wee hours of Sunday.
Today on Newsfile, host, Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guests will be taking a look at the kind of response that has been given to the situation after decades of notice, knowledge, and the reason for the delay in the construction of the sea defence wall, as well as the way forward now.
The panelists will also be holding a conversation around the concerns raised by the Catholic Bishops Conference on how the government is managing the public purse.
This topic will also include the subsequent response from government and former President John Mahama's response to government's reaction.
