Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Professor Kweku Danso-Boafo will meet team Ghana on Thursday ahead of opening ceremony on Friday at his private residence
Professor Danso-Boafo will officially inform the team and the Ghanaian community of the demise of President John Evans Atta Mills, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. He will also use the opportunity to announce the revised package of a gold medal to the team after a five member committee was tasked to revise the old package of 10,000 dollars.
Meanwhile JOY Sports sources reveals that the morale in the camp of Team Ghana at the games village has sunk to an all time low following the passing away of President John Evans Atta Mills.
But in an interview with JOY Sports, Professor Kweku Danso-Boafo “I was surprised and shock to the news of the death of my friend, brother and father but I know our sports athletes will do him the honors by winning him more medals”.
Team Ghana is made of nine Sports men and twelve officials with some Ghanaian community members joining the entourage to the residence. A book condolence have been opened at the offices of the Embassy to be signed by other Ambassadors ,High Commissioners and dignitaries.
