CEO of Medicas hospital has said that low income earners tend to be at a higher risk of developing stroke.
Stroke is a disease that affects the arteries leading to, and within the brain.
He noted that "the 'so-called poor individuals' tend to eat poorly and are not able to exercise [visit the gym, get access to proper healthcare, etc]," which are all risk factors for developing a stroke, thus, entreating individuals to work hard and improve their socio-economic conditions.

He made the assertion on Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Thursday, May 26.
"Studies show that strokes are prevalent in low economic groupings...and if we put all the factors together, we realise that people with low monthly income tend to be at higher risk of developing stroke," he stressed.
"So I think this is enough motivation to encourage people to try and be successful in life,” he added.
The doctor was contributing to discussions on stroke. He mentioned that the major cause of stroke is hypertension.
He also mentioned that stress and unhealthy diets are all other risk factors, thus, urging individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles in order not to develop the condition.
