Champions League holders Real Madrid have announced that Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has extended his contract to lsat until 2020.
Modric joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2012 and he has helped the club to win two Champions League titles during his time in Spain.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Luka Modric have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2020,” read a statement on Real Madrid’s website.
He regularly plays next to Toni Kroos in the heart of the Real midfield, with the pair often dominating games together.
Real remain undefeated in La Liga so far this season, having won five and drawn three of their opening eight games, but they sit behind arch rivals Atletico Madrid on goal difference.
Modric has only appeared in half of those games, scoring once.
