All is set for the much-anticipated commissioning of Kantanka Automobile Company Ltd.'s commercial car production units.
President John Dramani Mahama will Wednesday, November 25, 2015 commission the company’s Automobile Manufacturing Plant at Gomoa Mpota, Winneba, in the Central Region.
A statement signed by Kwadwo Safo Jr. son of founder of the company, Apostle Dr. Ing. Kwadwo Safo, announced this in Accra.
“Our company is ready to commence commercial production, sales and servicing of its cars, the ‘KANTANKA CARS’.”
The statement said, after years of research and tests, the company and its partners are determined to prove that strong, robust, durable and reliable automobiles can be produced in Africa.

“[We] will ensure that Ghana, Africa and the world at large have access to our indigenous brand of vehicles made with extreme caution and attention to detail,” Kwadwo Safo Jr. said.
He noted the proudly Ghanaian Kantanka brand “is commencing the next step in its quest to achieve our vision, which is to see Ghana and Africa participating in the global automotive industry as a manufacturer rather than consumer and after-sales-service provider.”
The commissioning of the plant will be followed by the launching of the company’s first three flagship Kantanka Models - Kantanka Onantefuo (SUV), Kantanka Omama (Pickup), and Kantanka K71 (Mini SUV).
The launch is slated for Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Kwadwo Safo Jr. said all the vehicles are fitted with modern gadgets and built to guarantee the safety and satisfaction of consumers in the lower and middle-income brackets.
