JoyNews can confirm, the main suspect in the killing of Asantehene’s sub-chief, Nana Kwadwo Afoduo has been arrested.
Thirty-eight year old spiritualist, Mohammed Sadat, also known as Alhaji, was arrested in Burkina Faso by police in Paga with support of their Burkinabe counterparts.
Reports say the suspect who was attempting to escape into France via Senegal, put up no resistance when he was picked up on Sunday.
Also in police custody is the wife of the spiritualist, Nana Yaa Asantewaa Bonsu who is also Queenmother of Pakyi Number 1 in Ashanti Region.

The police have expressed confidence that the arrest of Alhaji who was declared wanted by police in August will help bring closure to investigations into brutal murder of the late war marshal of the Asantehene.
It follows retrieval of Alhaji’s unregistered white Land Cruiser vehicle by police after his escape from his Kumasi and Atebubu homes.

Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Godwin Ahianyoh also confirmed the arrest of the wife of the spiritualist and Queenmother of Pakyi Number 1, Nana Yaa Asantewaa Bonsu.
Nana Asantewaa turned herself in at the Regional Police Headquarters and is assisting with investigations, the PRO said.
The body of Nana Afuduo, 47- a close relative of Asantehene who until his enstoolment was the chief driver of the Asantehene was found in the back seat of his Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle between Ebuom and Adiembra communities on the Ejura-Nkoranza Highway on August 18, 2019.

Police say his assailants also set his vehicle on fire to cover up traces of the murder. It took the intervention of members of a church who were returning from a prayer meeting to douse fire in the vehicle.
Three others, including a confidant, linguist and a friend of the late chief have been assisting police investigations after been granted bail after their arrest a month ago.
