Medeama board chairman Dr Tony Aubynn has hailed the club’s title sponsors Goldfield Ghana Limited for their immense contribution to the meteoric rise of the Ghanaian club.
The Yellow and Mauves recorded an impressive 2-0 win over the South African side Mamelodi Sundowns to advance on the away-goal rule.
In the midst of the pump and pageantry, Goldfield Ghana Limited, based at Tarkwa and Damang has been at the centre of the historic feat.
And board chairman Dr Tony Aubyn has heaped praise on the mining powerhouse.
“We are absolutely delighted for this feat but the biggest contributor in all this is Goldfield Ghana Limited.
“The club is internally grateful to them for the massive show of financial support over the years.
“Without them, we’re convinced in our minds that we’ll not be here.
“Help me to thank Goldfield again because what they have done for the people of Tarkwa and Ghana in general is simply phenomenal.
Medeama will find out their opponents in the group stage of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup when the draw is conducted on Tuesday May 24 in Cairo.
