Merton International Primary and High School have been awarded top honours at the 2024 British Council Partner Schools Awards for exceptional performance in the A Level and IGCSE exams.

Upholding its 'Tradition of Excellence,' the school received accolades both nationally and internationally.

In the June 2023 A Level examinations, four of Merton’s candidates achieved outstanding results, earning the school the title of ‘Overall Best A-Level School’ for the 2023 Cambridge A Level Examinations. Merton’s students secured nine Star Performer awards across nine subject categories, a testament to their hard work and dedication.

King Solomon Ladzekpo distinguished himself by winning the ‘Best in IT’ award globally and sweeping the national award.

He was recognized as the ‘Overall Best A Level Student’ in the 2023 Cambridge A Level examinations with an extraordinary achievement of four stars across his A Level subjects, a total score of 378, and an average score of 94.00%.

Solange Atwi-Donkor, previously the Overall Best IGCSE Student in 2021, was honoured as the ‘Highest Star Performer’ in Cambridge Level Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Similarly, Nana Kwame Opoku Ware Ampomah excelled as the ‘Highest Star Performer’ in Cambridge A Level Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

Michael Kofi Ohemeng Aning was recognized as the ‘Highest Star Performer’ in Cambridge A Level Economics and Physics.

In the IGCSE 2023 examinations, Senam Fafa Kpekpena was celebrated as the Highest Star Performer in Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics and Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (without coursework).

The award ceremony was held on June 28, 2024, at the British Council Partner Schools Awards, where students were accompanied by the staff and faculty of Merton, along with their families, to receive their awards.

Established in 1998, Merton International School recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023.
