Mfantsipim marked a momentous milestone on Friday, March 20, 2026, with the official launch of its 150th anniversary commemorative cloth and two special songs celebrating the school's illustrious legMfantsipimvent, held at the Atrium, World Trade Centre in Accra, drew prominent alumni, partners, students, and distinguished stakeholders who gathered to honor over a century and a half of excellence in education.
The occasion was characterised by a sense of pride and reflection, as the school unveiled its beautifully designed anniversary cloth—crafted to symbolise the rich heritage, culture, and enduring legacy of Mfantsipim.
In addition, the launch of the two original songs, composed to celebrate the school's history and future, captivated attendees with their inspiring melodies and powerful messages.

A highlight of the event was the inspiring fundraising initiative, where over One Million Ghanaian Cedis was raised to support the ongoing development and facelift of the school, ensuring that Mfantsipim continues to be a beacon of academic excellence and national pride for generations to come.
Winners of the anniversary songs and cloth competition, in the persons of Benjamin Aaron Nattey, Derek Akohene Tetteh, Flora Adokoh, Ace Anan Ankomah and Alfred Gyan, were awarded for their outstanding entries and contributions to the 150th anniversary celebrations.
Speaking at the launch, Captain John Yamoah, Chairman of the 150th anniversary Planning Committee, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support that has sustained Mfantsipim’s journey for 150 years, but remarked there was much to be done to return the school and its alumni to its dizzying heights. He called for greater solidarity among old boys to help revive the school and its infrastructure to world-class status.
Ebusuapanyin of Mfantsipim, Moses Baiden Jnr, in his closing address, remarked, “Our story is just beginning. This milestone celebrates our past while inspiring our future. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to excellence and tradition.”
The launch of the anniversary songs and cloth not only commemorates the school’s heritage but also sets the tone for future celebrations, initiatives, and the ongoing quest to uphold the esteemed reputation of Mfantsipim.
