Sky Sports understands that Middlesbrough are in talks with Bristol City over Black Stars midfielder Albert Adomah Albert Adomah.
The 25-year-old Ghana international has already made it clear to City that he does not wish to play in League One following their relegation from the Championship last year.
Wigan Athletic had two bids rejected this summer, and Adomah submitted a transfer request - which was refused.
He had looked set to start the season with City, but bow it appears that Adomah could get his wish to move as Boro look set to open their cheque book for the first time this summer by agreeing a deal in excess of £1million for the highly-rated winger.
Adomah, who began his career in non-league football, before joining Barnet and then Bristol City in 2010, has one-year left on his current deal at Ashton Gate.
