Jordan Ayew says he still has more years ahead of him to play more games for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The Crystal Palace forward, 31, said this after tying John Paintsil as Ghana’s fourth most-capped player in history, with 91 appearances.
Jordan captained the Black Stars to come from a goal down and beat the Central African Republic 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The win ensured Ghana’s qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be staged in Ivory Coast next January.
Speaking after the game, Jordan Ayew described the feet as a blessing.
“I’m surprised, I didn’t even know, is a proud moment, it’s an achievement and you know I’m still young and I have to keep going.
“I feel fit, I feel strong and I know that I still have more years to come.
“It’s a blessing I was able to start for the national team very early. It’s a positive thing and I just want to thank all the managers who were here in the past and even now.
“I really want to thank them for the confidence. I need to keep going because I have a lot of years ahead of me.”
Jordan Ayew made his Black Stars debut in 2010 and has since scored 19 goals, the same as his father Abedi Pele.
