The other day I walked into my home and as is family practice, I proceeded to wash my hands. During the hand wash session, I had a eureka moment - that friction is a good thing when it has a noble purpose.
At this point I increased the force of friction between my palms and as you'd imagine I got more dirt off my hands.
Friction is defined as the resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another. My dear friends like hand washing without friction we will not be able to get more dirt off of our cars, clothes and even out skin. The force however must be measured to give the desired effect. More dirt means more effort.
Until that moment I was inclined to thinking that friction was purely a negative force but I learnt how it could hold so much good for my development and yours too.
Difference in opinion is a source of friction and presents us with an opportunity to learn and be taught. The fact that we don't see the same picture actually gives us a chance to learn new interpretations.
The vicissitudes of life has a wonderful way of teaching us new things about ourselves. It teaches us lessons of poor choice, resilience and ultimately the pains of growth.
Friction is at play when confronted by situations where we must make a choice guided by our values, our belief and our ethics.
The conviction of our inner spirit of good in a world that is fast losing its way gives us a chance to use friction. Allowing that inner conviction of our conscience makes us better people.
Braking is possible only with friction. Now guess what, braking can buy you time so does friction. Braking can change the course of your destiny. No matter what your situation is or where your find yourself, if you need to make that change; STOP! It may be difficult but you can and its within you to be able to do that.
Remember that the lubricant to ease the pain of friction will always be the noble reason and potential gains you will make if you pull it through. May the force be with you!
