Members of Parliament have been assured of adequate financial resources to enable them carry through business of the house.
Business for the second session of the sixth parliament started today.
Deputy Minority leader Dominic Nitiwul and the Majority leader Dr. Benjamin Kunbour assured the House of their readiness to get members to work extra hours to get most of the bills through.
"Parliament has a backlog of bills and we anticipate many more to come, including all committee meetings which we all know is the backbone of Parliament's meeting.
Dominic Nitiwu noted, "I make this plea very mindful of the serious logistical and financial challenges facing MPs but still I hope the various groups within Parliament will find a way of getting resources to enable them carry out their activities."
The majority leader Benjamin Kunbuor on his part said the stakes are very and urged MPs to live up to expectation.
"I would equally entreat members and as I keep saying the stakes are very high and the public is watching us in terms of our attendance and performance of our Parliamentary duties," he said.
