Following the first edition in November 2020, sports fans have come to expect an annual dose of the GPL Primer to get them ready for the impending Ghana Premier League season.
Once more, the Joy Sports team is leading the way in creative programming around domestic football, following an exciting Transfer Countdown - GPL Edition some two weeks ago.
Having raised the levels of expectations for the new domestic season with that two-hour show, this Wednesday should see fans treated to a similarly loaded package on the JoyNews programme.
Muftawu Nabila Abdulai, an authority on domestic football matters who notably gets breaking news stories around the leagues and policies governing them, will front the show on September 7.
"I am really excited to bring to our audience a product many of them look forward to annually," Muftawu said.
"The Ghana Premier League is an incredible competition that drives emotions you can't even imagine. I have been to many venues across the country, and I can tell you, locals 'eat and drink' the premier league contrary to what many believe," he added.
"Joy Sports is much noted for delivering the best sports content on all our platforms. I remember the GFA president, Kurt Okraku, telling me Joy Sports has always shown leadership and he's extremely happy we are instituting new products which will help the Ghanaian game because they need more exposure.
"These words meant a lot to me. To have the first gentleman of our football speak of our team this way shows there are many eyes on what we do; people are paying attention to us and we cannot afford to drop our guards.
"So, Wednesday night won't be different. All the people who matter -- the key actors in your favourite team, from Tamale to Samrboi have been spoken to. It will be fun," he concluded.
Fans can follow the show via livestream on YouTube and the Facebook pages of Joy Sports, JoyNews and Joy 99.7 FM.
