Illustrious Gospel Musician MOG Music says that his wine comments were taken out of context.
This comes up on the heels of a comment he passed about wines in an interview with Kwame Dadzie of Ghana Weekend where he said alcohol wines tastes better.
"Wine is nice, especially the ones with alcohol it soothes you. It settles the body, when you read the Bible, wine even plays an important role in it," he said.
Today on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he refuted his comments when he was asked by show host, KMJ, if he really meant what he said about alcohol in his previous interview.
Although he admitted that alcoholic wines tasted better, he emphasized that he only took it in the past, since he is now a changed person in Christ.
"My alcohol comments were taken out of context. I took alcohol years ago. I was talking about the fact that wine tastes good whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic especially when you have a good wine, it soothes you. It depends on the mood you are in when you take it. Basically I was saying that, that was my experience in the past and I changed it to the fact that now that I'm in Christ Jesus the wine that I take is the wine being filled by the Holy Spirit but that side wasn't captured," he said.
He went on to admonish Christians against the excessive intake of alcohol as the Bible speaks against it and it also goes far to affect certain vital organs of the body.
"The Bible says that the excess of alcohol is bad and you know that if you drink alcohol too much you end up hurting your liver. Your organs start shutting down. So if something you are drinking is killing your body, you just need to stop it. I don't know anybody who has over drunk alcohol and has lived over 100". So it is not a good thing,” he stressed.
The two time winner of the Male Vocalist of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was on the show to talk about his New Wine Concert (Koinonia Edition) which comes off this Sunday at the Royal House Chapel (Oil Dome) at exactly 5PM.
