As part of its annual Christmas outreach, MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation has supported needy mothers and patients at the Sogakope District Hospital in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.

The Boxing Day activity, held under the theme “Love at First Cry” (Second Edition), also marked the Foundation’s 7th anniversary.

The Foundation presented a cheque of GH¢70,000 to clear medical bills for more than 100 financially challenged patients, including mothers, children, and emergency cases at the hospital.

It also donated 50 hampers to new mothers and supplied food items to support patients and hospital staff during the festive season.

Each hamper contained essential baby and maternal care items, including diapers, detergents, baby oil, wipes, soap, powder, antiseptics, sanitary pads, and toys.

In addition, the Foundation donated 30 bags of rice, 150 bottles of cooking oil, eight boxes of mackerel, 10 boxes of corned beef, and 10 boxes of spaghetti to the hospital.

Receiving the items, the Head of Administration at Sogakope District Hospital, Samuel Omega, thanked the Foundation for the timely intervention.

He said many patients are unable to settle their bills, leading to prolonged hospital stays despite support from the National Health Insurance Scheme.

“This gesture is deeply touching and will bring relief to many patients who have been stranded due to unpaid bills,” he said.

Mr Omega noted that the hospital serves patients from Sogakope and surrounding areas, including accident and emergency cases, some of whom arrive without family support.

He encouraged other organisations and philanthropists to support similar initiatives to improve healthcare delivery.

MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation is a Christian nonprofit organisation made up of professionals who pool resources to support the needy.

Since 2018, the Foundation has undertaken over 23 projects nationwide, focusing on healthcare, poverty alleviation, education, and social support.

Founder and President of the Foundation, Nicholas Cofie, said the outreach reflects the group’s commitment to restoring hope and dignity to vulnerable people.

He thanked volunteers, donors, and partners for supporting the initiative and reaffirmed the Foundation’s dedication to serving the less privileged.
