The Bono-East Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has conducted a targeted anti-drug operation, dubbed “Operation Clean Street”, in Donkor-Nkwanta in the Nkoranza South District, leading to the arrest of six suspects.
The exercise, carried out on Friday, March 27, 2026, forms part of ongoing efforts by the Commission to curb the distribution and abuse of illicit drugs, particularly among young people, and to improve safety in communities identified as high-risk.

According to NACOC, the operation focused on known drug hotspots, commonly referred to as ghettos, within the area.
Six suspects were arrested during the exercise. They have been identified as Ismael Tahiru, 20; Edward Adai, 20; Opoku Kwame, 20; Benjamin Atinga, 22; Isaac Antwi, 23; and Emmanuel Brobbey, 23.

A search conducted on the suspects led to the retrieval of substances believed to be cannabis, along with other suspected synthetic drugs.
Officers also seized several items, including four blisters of Tramadol (250mg), six boxes of Gold Seal, 60 rolls of cannabis, a quarter parcel of wrapped cannabis, one and a half compressed cannabis parcels, and seven additional quantities of locally prepared cannabis.
Other items retrieved included four packs of rolling papers, one lighter, a motorcycle, two kitchen knives, five pairs of scissors, and a hammer.

All six suspects are currently in custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations. NACOC said the seized items have been secured for further analysis and evidential purposes.
The Bono-East Regional Command reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks and reducing substance abuse across the region.
