The Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Kofi Kportufe has been awarded by the West Africa Nobles Forum (WANF) for “honesty and integrity”.
According to WANF, Kofi Portuphy is a man of integrity and an eminent Ghanaian who has sacrificed to put a smile on the faces of thousands of people especially the poor and vulnerable.
The Vice Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress and an aspiring National Chairman of the party, was honored alongside a few West Africans for their noble virtues and immense contributions to the growth and development of Ghana and the West African region.
The Nobles Awards are presented annually to prominent West Africans whose selfless efforts in their chosen field of endeavor, have earned them a reputation beyond the shores of their respective countries.
In addition, recipients are known to have upheld the virtues of honesty, integrity and accountability in both their public and private lives.
Apart from gaining the title of a 'Noble', Kofi Portuphy had other entitlement to the award which include, Automatic membership of the forum, a special membership certificate, Nobles car sticker, breastlet (PIN) and a Golden Award Plaque.
Addressing the Newly inducted Nobles at a conferment ceremony in Akosombo in the Eastern region, chairman of the occasion Noble Rockson Dogbegah charged the Nobles to continue to keep the principles of honesty and integrity aflame and help eschew corruption and corrupt practices.
''A Noble is defined as fine personal qualities that people admire, courageous, humility, honesty and care for others…Knowing what is right is a requirement of the laws of the Nobles Forum”, Noble Rockson Dogbegah said.
Interacting with the Media after the program Noble Kofi Portuphy dedicated the award “to the government and the good people of Ghana for the confidence and courage they reposed in me for getting to where I am today”.
''The Lord has been merciful and gracious to me and I thank God for the strength. I pledge to continue to do the things that have the potential to give hope to the people and leave a legacy worthy of emulation, '' Kofi Portuphy Said.
Noble Kofi Portuphy is also a director of elections for the ruling party.
