Mr Edward Akate, 2007 National Best Farmer, has donated 50 bags of cement worth GH¢650.00 in support of the construction of a Police Station at Buokrom, Kumasi.
He said the donation was his contribution to bring down crime and maintain law and order in the area.
Mr Akate, who is the Director of Akate Farms, promised to support development projects initiated by the community.
The Assembly member for Old-Tafo Ahenbronum and Chairman of the Buokrom
-Ahwiaa Overseas Landlords Association, Mr Francis Ampadu who received the gift expressed gratitude for the donation.
The project, which started last year, is estimated to cost about GH¢80,000.00 and is being financed through the payment of special levies by residents.
Mr Ampadu said so far more than GH¢7,500.00 had been spent on it.
He appealed to the people to pay the levies to enable the project to be completed on schedule.
