The National Communications Authority (NCA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its counterpart from Turkey, the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (ICTA) to share knowledge and experience.

The MOU was signed at Flagstaff House during the Turkish President's two-day working visit to Ghana.

NCA Director General, William Tevie signed for NCA, while the Chairman of the Board of ICTA, Dr Omer Fatih Sayan signed on behalf of ICTA.

Speaking on the MOU, William Tevie explained that the Authority welcomed the opportunity to engage with ICTA on issues of mutual interest to both institutions as a practice which is quite common amongst telecommunication regulators with the aim of enabling the respective institutions share knowledge and experiences in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.

It is expected that both regulatory authorities stand to benefit and build their capacities in meeting the growing needs of a fast changing industry.

Meanwhile, the NCA hosted Dr. Omer Sayan at its premises, the NCA aboard Chair, Eugene Baffoe-Bonnie and the DG led a management team to hold in-depth discussions with Dr. Sayan on areas of mutual benefit.

Mr. Baffoe-Bonnie said, the NCA was pleased to be part of such a ceremony which sought to improve the regulatory practices and went on to say that the exchange of ideas, information, personnel, skills and experience will be of reciprocal benefit to both sides.
