The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared this year's election a must-win for the party.
The Chairman of the NDC Zongo Caucus Working Committee, Said Sinare, urged party supporters to take all necessary steps to achieve the victory.
“Ghanaians won’t forgive NDC if we fail to win the election, because it is a must-win election for the NDC. No matter what, we need to secure victory in this election, as Allah has already determined that John Mahama will be the winner,” he said.
At an event in Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region to inaugurate Ashanti Region Morale Youth for the party, Mr Sinare remarked that no matter which deity the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) consults, they will ultimately lose the election to the NDC.
He accused the ruling party of attempting to rig the election, urging party supporters to stay alert and closely monitor the events at the different polling stations on Election Day.

"They intend to rig the election, but they're too insignificant to succeed," he said, daring them to attempt it, warning that they would face a strong backlash.
The NDC's parliamentary candidate for the Old Tafo/Pankrono constituency, Sahmudeen Mohammed Kamil, urged party supporters to maintain their unwavering support, assuring them it will pay off in the future.
He highlighted instances where individuals from the area have been acknowledged by the party at both the regional and national levels.
Mr. Kamil also reiterates his commitment to launching an MP scholarship programme, among other initiatives, to assist deserving but talented students in furthering their education.
The party's Regional Chairman, Nana Akwasi, urged the gathering at the event to promote the NDC's proposed 24-hour economy policy, which they plan to implement upon winning power. He claimed that the ruling government becomes anxious whenever they hear about this policy.
“Keep hitting on that policy,” he said.
Nana Akwasi also reminded them not to relax in their pursuit of power until the last ballot is counted, urging them to focus their efforts on securing more votes.
The Morale Youth for NDC was founded in 2012 to advocate for NDC policies among voters in the Ashanti region.
During the donation of a Honda Pilot car to the group for their campaign efforts, key party member Abubakar Umar urges party members to support the initiative in their quest to secure votes for the party.
"I have done my part by donating the car to support the group's operations. I encourage others to contribute by donating motorbikes to help members move around and secure victory," he said.
Abubakar expressed confidence in the group, believing their efforts would lead to an increase in the party's votes in the region.
