The Corporate Communications Manager of Nestlé Ghana, Deborah Kwablah has emphasised the company's commitment to enhancing its sustainability efforts in order to maximise benefits across environmental, social, and economic domains, while also contributing to global objectives.
She explained that Nestlé Ghana is actively involved in various sustainability initiatives, including waste management and the use of renewable energy.
These efforts recently earned the company the "Overall Best Industrial Award" at the 13th Association of Ghana Industries and Quality Awards held two weeks ago.
Looking ahead, Mrs Kwablah expressed the company’s intention to further improve its sustainability projects in the coming year to fully realize their potential.
Additionally, she mentioned that Nestlé Ghana also received multiple accolades at the AGI ceremony, including the "Overall Best National Quality Award, Diamond Category (Food)," "Best Company (Food Sector)," and "Overall Industrial Company of the Year."
She made these remarks during this year's Maggi Fufu Festival, organised in partnership with Gold Coast Restaurant, in Accra on Sunday, December 22.

"We will keep strengthening our sustainability efforts. We are involved in various sustainability initiatives, including waste collection, renewable energy, and wastewater treatment, among others," she stated.
"This year has been exceptional. I say exceptional because we were named the Sustainable Manufacturing Company of the Year by the Association of Ghana Industries at the 13th awards ceremony. This recognition clearly shows that our sustainability efforts are valued and acknowledged by the industry and its associations," she added.

Miss Kwablah explained that the event was designed to bring individuals and groups together to reflect on their activities over the past year while also celebrating one of Ghana’s beloved traditional dishes, 'fufu.'
The gathering featured members from various alumni associations, including Aburi Girls SHS, Prempeh College, St. Augustine’s College, Adisadel SHS, Labone SHS, and Nungua SHS.

The vibrant Adaha Dance Band was present to entertain guests with lively Ghanaian highlife music and dance. The event also featured live music performances and rap competitions between the old-school associations.
"Today, we are here at the Gold Coast Restaurant celebrating fufu with Maggi. 'Fufu' is a special dish for all of us, no matter which part of Ghana we come from. It is enjoyed by many tribes across the country," she remarked.

“What better way to kick off the year-end celebrations than with a fufu party, cooking it to perfection with Maggi? Alumni associations are groups that do a lot of great work for their schools, and at the end of the year, they also come together to celebrate," she said.
"So this platform, with the Gold Coast Restaurant cooking with Maggi, is a platform that has made it easier for old school unions and other groups to gather and celebrate the things they have done within the year," she explained.

She urged Ghanaians to live peacefully and work towards a prosperous future for the country in the coming year:
"We all belong to this beautiful country, Ghana. It is a peaceful nation, so let’s cherish it. Let’s give our best in everything we do and celebrate joyfully as we look forward to a successful 2025."

For her part, Category Development Executive, Magherita Amon explained that the event aimed to educate consumers about the usefulness and benefits of Maggi in their households, particularly during the Christmas season.
"From the brand’s perspective, this fufu festival is an opportunity to inform our consumers that Maggi is a trusted household brand. We use local ingredients to prepare Maggi, and if you visit our Maggi stand here, you'll be able to see the ingredients we use in its preparation."

"We have the Maggi shrimp, Maggi d3d33d3, Maggi Tablets and Maggi Chicken. So all these varieties we give to consumers to choose from when they are going to cook their meals. Also, we use this occasion to let our friends in the diaspora know that when they come home, they can also come to experience events like these with Maggi," she added.
