US-based Ghanaian Gospel act, Maureen Biniyam won the Discovery of the Year award at the just ended Ghana Music Awards USA.
The 'Love Is Kind' crooner beat Sarah Sings, Ayeley Jane, DJ wise, Whitney, Dee Jay, U Reyner and Kwame Fredrick to win the award.
Receiving her award, Maureen Biniyam who is praised for her vocal dexterity and songwriting abilities stated that she was thankful for the support she had received from her fans and family.
"Friends, family and fans, we made it together and I’m here to say thank you soo much for your immense support since the inception of my ministry," she said.
Maureen who is blessed with the gift of songwriting has a lot of records to her credit.
The Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) 2021 took place on August 21 at Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the US.
GMA-USA is designed to celebrate and honour Ghanaian entertainers in and outside the country. It is also aimed at extending the reach of the Ghanaian music industry at home and abroad.
The awards ceremony was organised in partnership with Ghana’s Embassy in the USA.
