The renowned Nigerian architect and environmental science advocate, Architect Temitope Sunday Adeusi, has been honoured with the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity, conferred by the West African Youth Council.
The award ceremony, which took place on October 1, 2021, also marked his appointment as a West African Youth Ambassador, a role dedicated to promoting youth empowerment and sustainable development across the continent.
Architect Adeusi, who serves as the Managing Director of Santhotad Concept Plus Nigeria Limited, has played a leading role in advancing architecture, construction, and environmental science in West Africa.
His firm, which also functions as a training institution in the construction sector, has partnered with several Nigerian universities and polytechnics to provide first-hand professional experience to fresh graduates and interns in fields such as architecture, civil engineering, environmental science, and building technology.

From 2018, Architect Adeusi served as City Architect at the Ondo State Ministry of Works, where his designs and leadership helped shape modern infrastructure and sustainable urban planning across the state.
He is best known for his efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice, particularly for young professionals entering the labour market.
The award recognises his selfless service to youth empowerment and his impact on professional training for early-career graduates.
Architect Adeusi was celebrated alongside other distinguished African leaders, including Ghana’s Justice Kaba, Chairman of Kishi Consulting Firm, reaffirming the award’s prestige and continental significance.
In his acceptance remarks, Adeusi reiterated his commitment to using architecture as a tool for transformation and empowerment.
His recognition as a Youth Ambassador affirms the growing relevance of sustainable and inclusive design thinking in shaping Africa’s future.
