The UK and Ireland branch Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Horace Nii Ayi Ankrah, has said the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have failed ahead of this year’s general elections.
He said Nana Akufo-Addo has so far failed to provide quality campaigning while his campaign message is without hope and inspiration for the people.
“Before the people will vote they tend to judge from the leader’s quality of campaigning, the individual’s message of hope and change, by his or her ability to interpret the future against the background of the past and finally his or her ability to inspire. With these attributes the NPP and Akufo Addo have failed and still failing”, the NDC UK/Ireland branch Chairman said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Nii Ankrah, Ghana deserves a leader who at least is attentive, kind, sincere and decent and who will offer economic, social and political stability.
“In such a leader and a party that stands for national progress, the people would have no choice but to vote for such a leader and his or her party,” he maintained.
He noted that the greatest threat the country faces, is an uninspiring Akufo Addo and his NPP who are lacking in strategy and have little energy.
“To date the NPP has shown Ghanaians that they are visionless, messageless and uninspiring. They have failed to give Ghanaians alternatives to what the NDC have outlined in the Better Ghana Agenda, an example is the “free secondary school” propaganda. No details. On this particular issue I challenge Nana Addo to a live debate”.
Nii Ankrah repeated his claim that Akufo Addo’s campaign so far has been uninspiring, visionless and with no hope for Ghanaians because the party is only dwelling on 'day in day out misfortunes' of others.
He therefore urged Ghanaians to renew the mandate of President Mills and the NDC in the December polls to continue with the Better Ghana Agenda.
