The people of Nsawam/Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, who have lamented the pressure on their health facilities, will be receiving a Christian Teaching Hospital to help address the challenge.
According to residents, victims of road crashes on the Accra-Kumasi highway are rushed to the existing health facilities, thereby limiting their capacity.
But sources say after being notified, the Member of Parliament for the area, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has noted that plans are underway to build the first Christian Teaching Hospital in Nsawam.

At a ceremony to donate modern hospital beds to 13 health facilities on Wednesday, the MP stated that discussion on the construction of the first Christian Teaching Hospital is near conclusion with partners in the United State of America.
Mr Annoh Dompreh, who is also the Majority Chief Whip, is optimistic an additional facility will address the current challenges.

Speaking to JoyNews, the Municipal Health Director, Madam Eunice Abuaku said the legislator has been supportive in addressing health challenges.
She called for effective collaboration between stakeholders to address the health needs of the people.

Per reports, Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh had assisted in the procurement of some hospital equipment and also supported the construction of a maternity ward at the Nsawam Government Hospital.
