The Ghana Senior High School, Koforidua has given National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) audience and prospective contenders a foreshadow of what to expect as it qualifies for the quarter-final stage.
The 'beacons of the East' set the tone right for the contest held on Thursday from the first round when they scored 23 points with Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS following with 16 points, while Boa Amponsem SHS got 14 points.
Ghana Senior High School, Koforidua picked eight points in the 'Problem of the Day' round. Aggrey Memorial and Boa Amponsem SHS both recorded a perfect score of 10 points each to win the Prudential Life NSMQ Star award.
The winners, Ghana SHS, swept the GOIL Riddle Bonanza award after they got all the four riddles right in the last round. That earned them GHC1,600.

At the end of the contest, Ghanass accumulated a total of 60 points and stand the chance to win the Airtel/Tigo Highest Scorer of the Day award if their score remains the highest after all contests for the day have ended.
Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS recorded 36 points whereas Boa Amponsem picked 34 points, marking their exit from the competition.

The 2021 NSMQ quarter-finals is expected to begin on Friday, November 19 and will be hosted by the Quiz Mistress, Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann.
