Opoku Ware School has shown Mpraeso SHS and Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS their level after beating both schools to qualify for the quarter-final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
The Ashanti warlords began the race with an Imanus chant in the last one-eighth contest which was held on Thursday at the KNUST Kumapley auditorium.
The fourth and fifth rounds of the contest got the venue filled with a tensed atmosphere as MPASS took on the 'Akatakyie' in a wild battle that gave both schools equal chances of win.
At the end of round four, Opoku Ware had accumulated 42 points but Mpraeso was very close with 40 points. Only the last round could separate the boys from the men.
It was all joy when the 'God of Imanus' heard the cry of the 'Owarians' and rescued them from falling in their own backyard.

Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS was not a match to any of their competitors. Despite the valiant efforts they made to stay relevant in the contest, it unfortunately was one of those unlucky days for them.
MPASS and YAGSHS fell from the championship with respective points of 43 and 22. Opoku Ware secured victory with 48 points.
OWASS will compete with Oda SHS and Ghana SHS, Koforidua in the last quarter-final fixture slated for Sunday, November 21, 2021.
