It was a nail-biting contest at the SGS Auditorium as Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) fought hard to secure a quarterfinal spot in the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz after surviving a fierce riddle challenge from Nkwatia Presby SHS.
The Kwahu Magicians, as Nkwatia Presby are affectionately called, gave GSTS a tough run, especially in the riddles, where they impressively picked three in a row, leaving the crowd in awe and briefly threatening to overturn the lead.

But the Western Zonal Champions held their composure, finishing the contest with 50 points, narrowly ahead of Nkwatia Presby’s 45 points, while Ashaiman SHS ended with 28 points.
In the Problem of the Day, GSTS managed seven out of 10, with both Nkwatia Presby and Ashaiman SHS following closely with six out of 10 each.
The victory sees GSTS progress confidently to the quarterfinals, where they’ll hope to build on their form and keep their championship dreams alive.
