A National Service person resident at the University of Ghana campus is in a critical condition after falling from the fourth floor of the Mensah Sarbah Hall Annex A.
The young man, identified as Wahab Abdulai is said to have fallen out of his room after he slipped when attempting to move from his balcony to the balcony of the adjacent room.
Although it is unclear what accounted for the rather risky move, the incident is reported to have happened around 1:30 am on Friday.
According to sources, he sustained severe injuries on his hands and legs.
He is currently at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the University’s Student Dean, Prof Godfred Alufar Bokpin, has asked students to calm down as the police investigate the matter.
“I will urge every student to be calm. There should be no panic because the situation is under control. The issue is being investigated, the police and hall authorities are all involved and trying to get to the bottom of it,” he said.
