The Ayew brothers and and Kevin-Prince Boateng who recently rescinded their decisions to quit international football have a deadline by Thursday to officially write to the Ghana Football Association to announce their return.
The three players must write separate letters stating their availability before head coach Kwesi Appiah can invite them for Ghana's crucial Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia on September 6 and future assignments.
"They had earlier expressed their decisions not to play through the same medium and that is why we are asking for that," said Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi in an exclusive interview with Joy sports
"If you write something, you can't change it by word of mouth but you have to always write and change it, I don't think there is any difficulty in that once you are committed in coming back it should not take anything out of you if you reduced that intention of communicating to the Ghana FA.
Nyantakyi added that the Ghana Football Association is not over stretching the matter by insisting the players write to officially announce their return to the national team.
"We are not, I think we must be fair to both sides because when the players decided to communicate their decisions in writing was there any over stretching there? There was none so in the same way they should just write to us, it can't be in your own hand or in type written form it doesn't take any special means for you to write.
"Somebody will say you are putting emphasis on form or procedure and not substance but I think that both substance and procedure are equally important."
