Dear Mrs. Samira Bawumia,

I am writing you this letter from a faraway land in the Upper West Region. To be very precise, Challu in the Sissala East District. My reason for writing to you this humble letter is very simple: you have inspired many and pushed positively the change campaign of the NPP and I want you to continue in that direction.

It is often said that it is only the tree that has ripe and fresh fruits that attracts stones from people of all walks of life. It is also the flowers with the sweet scents that attract bees and as such if what you are doing isn't worthwhile, you wouldn't attract insults and derogatory criticisms from naysayers and narrow-minded reactionaries. So be at peace with yourself and continue your positive work. Continue to campaign for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP. Continue to visit your people in the zongos and talk more to them. Continue to meet the women groups and students in generality in all the tertiary institutions in Ghana. Continue because your effort wouldn't be wasted and Nana Addo and the NPP will win in the first round and be sworn in as the new government on 7th of January, 2017, Insha Allah.

Madam, it is essential for you to know that there are some people who throughout their lives have survived on only lies and insults. They thrive on that and any attempt to correct and change them is just like forcing a wild donkey from braying. It's practically impossible. Such persons have not imbibed the habit of debating constructively in their lives. They easily resort to slander and distortions when they lose debates. They are all around us even though money have forced some of them to be called, "role models". So for such persons, when you call them incompetent, they insult your tribe. When you give them evidence to substantiate your claim, they denigrate your lineage. They are experts in this and have been perhaps given special training on that.

It will surprise you to note that they claim you are an alien who doesn't deserve to talk. They have sent their social media lying soldiers to attack your ethnicity and lineage. To them, that's their answer to you for daring to speak the truth about the legendary incompetence of our brother the president. Their answer isn't surprising to me because insults and lies are always the weapons they have. My humble plea to you is to ignore such persons and kindly press on with your positive campaign. Know that their ultimate goal is to stop your campaign for Change. Their aim is to reduce your momentum in campaigning for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

Madam, what you need to know of such persons is that whilst they insult your tribe and call them aliens, they go back to that very tribe and turn the whole story upside-down as if you are rather the aggressor. They accuse you of being allowed to be used by supposed enemies who are bent on driving them away from Ghana. They don't tell them that they have set their social media soldiers to insult and ridicule them. They don't tell them that they call they and the other people in the zongos undesirable aliens. They won't do that because they assume that your people and those in the zongos are the most gullible and as such very easy to deceive them.

Madam, it will interest you to know that you aren't the only one such insulting and narrow-minded characters have shown their crudeness to. They didn't even spare their own founder, former president Rawlings. Despite Rawlings doing everything thing a human can do to benefit another human, despite Rawlings standing firm and making the NDC and all its members who they are today, they still insulted him mercilessly and named him, A BARKING DOG. They insulted and maligned him and eventually succeeded in making him somehow irrelevant in his own party. They didn't end with him there. They vigorously pursued his wife like hungry ferocious lions and succeeded in chasing her(Nana Konadu) out of the NDC. Her only crime like yours is her demand for honest and incorruptible leadership. Her only crime like yours is her demand for a competent leadership that doesn't steal and dupe its own citizens. The NDC can't stand a woman that is bold and fearless. A woman that can inspire millions is always a threat to them no matter how humble or harmless you are.

Madam, judging from how such persons in the NDC can be ungrateful to their own party founder, Jerry Rawlings, who are you then to them? Who are the "alien" zongos to them? As Ola Rotimi once rightly said, "If crocodiles eat their own eggs, what won't they do to the flesh of a frog? "

Madam, I know they have said a lot things against you. I know they have distorted your image. I know they tried ridiculing your image and slandering your marriage. I know they have done worse and they are still searching for more lies and distortions against you. My plea to you is to please ignore them. Ignore them for the sake of the voice of the women you are championing. Ignore them for the sake of the 'alien zongos' you are projecting. Ignore them for the sake of the honest, humble, patriotic, decisive and competent leadership you and your family are fighting for. Ignore them for the sake of the incorruptible leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo you and your family are projecting for the presidency starting January 7, 2017, In sha Allah. Ignore them for the sake of the youth and future of Ghana. And kindly know that these people won't end their lies, mischief, distortions, defamations and malicious propaganda on you and your family today.

Madam, I will end my letter here and hope you take solace in the statement of Socrates, "when the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser".
