Concerns have been raised that information on the coronavirus has not cascaded to the rural communities in the countryside

Purim African Youth Development Platform (PAYDP) in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has taken the fight against the coronavirus to rural communities amid concerns that information on the deadly virus has not cascaded to the countryside.

There has been a lot of concern over access to information and protective gears by rural folks during this time as most of them have little or no access to basic protection gadgets like the hand washing kits.

The recipients were educated on how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus

The team led by the Bono East Regional representative and focal person of PAYPD Millicent Ocloo donated items including Veronica buckets, bar soap, gallons of liquid soap, gallons of Bleach (Parazone), bottles of hand sanitisers, pieces of nose masks and pieces of sanitary pads to the Akisimasu community in the Techiman South Municipality.

Similar donations aimed at supporting the less-privileged during this COVID-19 period were presented to communities including Oforikrom, Konimase and GyawuKrom, in the Bono East Region.

Assembly member of the Akisimasu electoral area Nicholas Dikem thanked the group for the gestures and called and government to support rural communities in this difficult period.
