The Education Ministry appears prepared to accommodate students from the Junior High School who will be swarming to the Senior High Schools (SHS) in September.
Over half a million pupils successfully graduated from the basic level after they recently sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and are awaiting posting to their SHS of choice in a couple of months when their results would be out.
According to a document obtained from the Ministry, at least some 804 facilities which started in 2017 under the Senior High School Intervention Projects (SHSIPs), will be ready for use by these first years as well as the continuing students, at start of the 2019/2020 academic year.
The projects consist of the construction of new classroom blocks, administration blocks, dormitory blocks, assembly halls, laboratories as well as toilet facilities.
Others include the rehabilitation and expansion of existing facilities that will enable the schools to have the requisite space to adequately cater for the first year and continuing students.
They have reached various completion stages.
Below are photos of some of the facilities completed.
