The pedestrian overhead bridge at Avenor in the Accra is gradually turning into a dumping site as pockets of rubbish heaps can be found on the bridge.
The 2015 GJA Journalist of the Year, David Andoh was there to take pictures of the heaps of rubbish on the footbridge.
You would have thought bottles are meant for the recycle bin but no. It's trash on the Avenor bridge.
A scruffy matress and clothes could be seen too.
The bridge is fast turning into a recepticle for empty plastic bottles.
The foot of the bridge appears to have become a free joint for smoking.
Cigarette smokers seem to enjoy smoking on the abandoned bridge.
The rains had gathered this heap at another side of the bridge.
Empty cigarette boxes were found on the bridge.
A tattered box had been laid as a mat for sleeping.
The disability unfriendly bridge seem abandoned even by abled pedestrians.
Pedestrians prefer to cross the road despite the danger while the footbridge is left under-utilised.
